Electrostatic Discharge Immunity Testing
Electrostatic discharge is the most common immunity test applied to electronic and electrical equipment. Whether you are developing a commercial product to IEC 61000-4-2, qualifying automotive electronics to ISO 10605, or testing military hardware to MIL-STD-883, your ESD simulator needs to be accurate, reliable and correctly calibrated for the standard you are working to.
Laplace supplies the EMC Partner ESD3000, a modular handheld ESD simulator that covers commercial, automotive, military and component-level ESD standards from a single instrument. We chose EMC Partner for their reliability, product availability and responsive European support, all of which matter when your testing programme depends on your equipment being ready when you need it.
The ESD3000 is fully portable, battery powered and requires no additional base unit. Discharge networks are fully calibrated to ISO/IEC 17025 by EMC Partner AG, accredited by the Swiss Calibration Service (SCS No. 146) and recognised internationally through the ILAC framework.
Who Uses ESD Immunity Testing Equipment
Product Development Engineers
Pre-compliance ESD testing during development catches immunity problems before they become costly compliance failures at the test lab.
EMC Test Laboratories
A calibrated, modular ESD simulator covering multiple standards reduces the number of instruments a lab needs to maintain while keeping tests fully traceable.
Automotive and Defence Suppliers
ISO 10605 and MIL-STD ESD requirements go beyond the commercial standard in both voltage and discharge network complexity. The ESD3000 handles both without needing a separate instrument.
Production and Quality Teams
Repeatable, automated ESD testing in production environments requires consistent discharge behaviour and reliable calibration, both of which are built into the ESD3000 system.
Why the ESD3000
One Instrument, Many Standards
Swappable discharge modules mean the ESD3000 covers IEC 61000-4-2, ISO 10605, MIL-STD-883, STANAG 4239 and more from a single generator body. Automatic network recognition means the instrument configures itself correctly when a module is fitted. You add capability as your testing requirements grow without replacing the base unit.
Portable and Self-Contained
AA battery powered with up to 8 hours from a full charge. No additional base unit or mains connection is required in the field. Test voltage, discharge mode, polarity and counter are all programmable directly on the generator via the built-in LCD and menu buttons.
Traceable ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration
Every discharge module is individually calibrated by EMC Partner AG under their Swiss Calibration Service accreditation (SCS No. 146), which is recognised worldwide through ILAC. This gives you confidence that your test results are defensible and comparable across labs and audit scenarios.
Scalable to 30kV
The same ESD3000 mainframe extends from 16kV to 30kV using the DNx discharge network modules and RM32 extension, covering the most demanding automotive and military ESD voltage requirements without a change of generator.

The ESD3000 module system is designed around specific test standards. The tables below show which discharge module is required for each standard.
